French-Swedish Innovation Forum
Empowering partnerships in finance and technology
15th of October 2024 Grand Hôtel StockholmThis high-level forum is being organized following the signing of the new edition of the Strategic Innovation Partnership between Sweden and France during the French state visit to Sweden at the beginning of the year, with the purpose of contributing to the development of a sustainable, digital and resilient European competitiveness. Opportunities and challenges in the new areas of the Innovation Partnership, such as security and defense, digitalization, nuclear energy, mobility and the green transition will be highlighted. European and national regulations, technological developments, innovation financing as well as skills and talent needs will be an integral part of the program.
Within this context the aim is to promote and develop French-Swedish business relations, investments, R&D and impact collaborations. We want to facilitate knowledge-sharing and exchange best practices in green transition. We want to create meetings across our two countries to further build bridges between impact startups, companies, capital markets, and decision-makers. We want to strengthen the links between the French and Swedish innovation ecosystems and discuss the challenges and opportunities of Europe as an innovative continent of excellence for sustainable, digital and resilient societies.
This occasion offers an exceptional opportunity for networking to strengthen relations and identify new French-Swedish partnerships in innovative technologies for the sustainable transition, create new businesses and further trade relations between France and Sweden in both directions.

14:40 Panel I: Mobilizing resources for a European capital market
Do European companies have the financing opportunities they need to promote growth and innovation, create jobs, and enhance competitiveness?Start-ups, scale-ups, and innovative companies need to benefit from deep and well-functioning European markets for risk capital and R&D investments. However, innovative European companies often lack sufficient capital and R&D funding to compete globally and are forced to seek funding abroad or even relocate overseas. Is there a lack of availability and access to capital in Europe? If so, why? How can European financial risk-taking be increased? Ensuring well-functioning European capital markets is key to unlocking the private capital necessary to fund the investment needs of EU companies and allow investments and savings to move easily across all EU countries for consumers, investors, and businesses. How would the “European Capital Market” project contribute? What are Europe’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and challenges?

Maia Genomics solves the issue in modern healthcare - reactive treatment. Millions go undiagnosed each year, leading to preventable deaths and a financial burden on society by increasing costs with late stage treatment. This is because today's healthcare asks you two key questions; Do you have symptoms? Do you have a family who has had a condition? - If the answers are no, they won’t screen you. Meanwhile long before symptoms appear, Maia can leverage DNA sequencing technology and AI, providing early detection and prevention through easy-to-use home DNA tests and personalized health reports to consumers. With personalized health reports the consumer has a reason and direct path to primary healthcare, getting the treatment they need, as their pre-dispositions and risks are revealed from our test - becoming proactive. By combining genetic data with AI and partnering with healthcare providers, Maia will accelerate preventative healthcare, positioning us to enter a €278 billion global preventative healthcare market. No one should die of a treatable condition ever again.
